RTR UK Ltd is pleased to announce that it has become a corporate partner for Brake, the UK charity that campaigns to improve road safety and support the victims of road accidents. RTR works with people involved in road accidents every day and therefore sees the devastation this can cause, putting this issue at the heart of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) considerations.
Paul Hoyle, Managing Director of RTR spoke of the company’s new alliance:
“We are delighted to become a corporate partner to Brake and we share the charity’s ethos and aims. Brake does an excellent job supporting people whose lives have been shattered by accidents on the road and there are definite parallels with the work that we do; helping people with a range of services designed to make their lives easier following an accident.”
RTR will be using its annual corporate event on 25th November, which coincides with Road Safety Week, as an opportunity to raise money for the charity.
Katie Shephard, Director of Fundraising at Brake, says: “Brake is delighted that RTR is supporting Brake and has become one of our extremely valued Corporate Partners. Every day six people are killed and a further 70 are seriously injured in road crashes. Every penny donated by RTR will go towards Brake’s work to support families whose lives are devastated by road crashes.”
Brake is an independent national road safety charity. Brake exists to stop the six deaths and 70 serious injuries that happen on UK roads every day and to care for families bereaved and seriously injured in road crashes. Brake produces educational road safety literature, runs community training programmes and runs events including Road Safety Week (21-27 November 2011). Brake’s Fleet Safety Forum provides up-to-date fleet safety resources to fleet managers and runs a year-round programme of events. Brake’s support division cares for road crash victims through a helpline and other services.
